E2 Starts Colorado Effort

E2 has started efforts to advance environmental policy in Colorado. Led by E2 Colorado members Andrew Currie and David Readerman, our first meetings were held July 16 and 17 in, Boulder and Denver. The Boulder meeting, hosted by Andrew Currie, attracted 20 successful, serial entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, several of whom helped E2 publicly support the passage of Colorado’s renewable portfolio standard in 2004. Cole Finegan of Hogan and Hartson LLP hosted the Denver meeting together with David Readerman. They brought in staff from the offices of Governor Bill Ritter, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, and U.S. Representatives Mark Udall (D-2nd) and Diana DeGette (D-1st).

Our next step will be a follow-up meeting with the Governor’s office to discuss energy and climate policies for Colorado. We also want to expand our network in Colorado and expect several of the meeting attendees to join E2 and help our local efforts. E2 would like to thank Cole Finegan and Hogan and Hartson for graciously hosting our meeting. Our thanks also go to Andrew and David for making these meetings possible, and for their longtime contributions to E2.
